Despite the industry’s shift towards cloud solutions and Cisco’s promotion of Webex and softphones, we continue to see significant interest in PhoneUP Apps’ Enterprise Directory module for Cisco UCM and Cisco IP phones.
This indicates that not all customers are rushing to migrate their on-premise Cisco Collaboration infrastructure to the cloud. For those customers, PhoneUP Directory remains an attractive solution, focusing on two key functionalities: 1. Displaying caller ID on Cisco IP phones. 2. Enabling users to quickly find and call any contact.
1. Caller ID on your Cisco IP phone
The functionality is quite intuitive, simple, and straightforward. We’re all used to seeing who’s calling on our cell phones. This could be a colleague within the company network or an external call. Naturally, this is convenient, and users expect the same experience from their Cisco IP phones. That’s why PhoneUP Directory integrates with all corporate systems (AD, CRM, etc.) to consolidate all phone numbers in one database. When incoming calls arrive on your Cisco IP phone and the contact is recognized, a caller ID popup – including the caller’s photo, name and other info – displays on the phone’s screen.
2. Contact search
With all contacts consolidated in one place, PhoneUP Directory offers a user-friendly search interface to quickly find the contact you need. Access it directly on your Cisco IP phone or through the PhoneUP Agent PC application – providing two convenient search options.
3. Cisco Collaboration support
PhoneUP Directory supports all versions of CUCM Enterprise and the ENTIRE range of Cisco IP phones, automatically optimizing the caller ID popup for each device. Whether it’s a monochrome or color display, graphical or text-based, PhoneUP Directory generates the caller ID popup for optimal display on that specific model.
As PhoneUP Directory integrates with on-premise Cisco infrastructure, we see that not everyone is embracing cloud solutions.
